The annual cleaning of fur is extremely important for the care and maintenance.
During the year, the smog dust and dirt are placed continuously on the fur, causing it to lose its natural shine and taking away elasticity from the leather.
Cleaning your fur is carried out in our factory, with modern techniques which include, in addition to cleaning the item, an anti-moth, deodorant and softening treatment. Thanks to this type of treatment, the fur returns to be as new.

FUR RESTYLING
Fur restyling has been very popular in recent years, as in addition to having a completely new fur pattern, we often tend to dye fur with extravagant and fashionable colors.
Thanks to extensive experience and a high professionalism are able, through a series of treatments to the leather, to modernize the old fur making it much lighter and shiny.
Among other things, continuing to read you will discover:
The fur transformation is not always a right solution. Many people do the fur model restyle, on the advice of “expert” people, and after some time they find a outerwear that comes away like a piece of paper. Before taking an old fur coat for any type of processing, North Dallas Furs examines the garment and in the due cases informs its customers that the work is not possible. Other very important factors are the cost of the fur model restyle and the use of fur. We often advise our customers not to re-model when the fur is too old and Worn, the solution in this case could be a trade-in.
Restyling a fur is convenient when:
To restyle the fur, a first boutique evaluation is carried out for:
Then we proceed with the test of the various models that can be made already present in boutiques, so you can get an idea of how it will dress.
Then we will take customer’s measurements, usually small changes of the fur are also reported, so that it can be perfectly adapted, in order to create a perfect tailored fur.
For the re-construction of the old fur, our laboratory completely disassembles your fur coat.
All worn or weak leather parts are eliminated, so we can begin to nail the leather and spread them with special fats. Since the leather is old it need special types of work to make the fur soft and shiny as if it were new.
After about 2 & 3 weeks a first test is carried out, we will see how the fur will fit and if necessary some imperfections shall be adjusted. Then we proceed to choose the lining and some accessories, such as buttons, colored hooks and drawstrings.
In less than a week the fur will be ready for delivery.
The cost of fur transformations of fur can vary depending on the reference boutique. Usually on the market there are also refurbishing with very low prices, and this also indicates the poor quality of the labor.
Let's start with a point blank question: Is fur sustainable?
We will immediately answer yes as it is natural, biodegradable and organic so it is an excellent sustainable solution unlike what it is said about "fake" or "synthetic" fur built from non-renewable petroleum and for which vital resources are exhausted for their production.
And when we don't like the latter anymore?Simple, they do not biodegrade and become the cause of as much as 33% of micro-plastic emissions into the environment (see IUCN The International Fur Federation) So the connotation of fake fur is fine but organic or ecological fur, definitely less. Being sustainable therefore means being more informed and aware of what is the most important damage to the environment, certifying the traceability of leather and promoting a welfare policy. Furthermore, according to the International Fur Federation, the so-called eco-furs are actually much more harmful to the environment than natural leathers, as they are produced with chemical bases responsible for the very serious pollution of our seas and oceans. And what about natural furs?Natural fur, as mentioned, is biodegradable and when it has reached the end of its useful life (usually between 20-30 years) it can be buried, returned to the earth, used to fertilize the garden. Furthermore, real fur comes from a natural source. There are also positive environmental impacts in the choice of farmed fur. Foxes and minks living on farms are fed with animal products from other industries. The waste products of the chicken and dairy industries are sent to farms to feed those animals preventing the waste these industries produce from being disposed of in landfills and having a negative environmental impact. And for leather processing? Isn't it harmful to the environment?Tanning and coloring of furs do not need harmful chemicals to remove the skin. In reality, the process is designed to preserve hair and follicles, consequently the industry uses only relatively benign and delicate chemicals. These are largely alum salts, including aluminum sulfate.
The main difference between a real fur and a faux fur, or maybe mistakenly called ecological fur, is in the ecological sustainability of outwear. The real fur is 100% ecological sustainable, starting from the tanning that is also made in a vegetable and biological way.
Faux fur is not good for the earth, since it is made up of petroleum. Yes, petroleum. Faux fur is composed by nylon, acrylic and polyester, all derivative of petroleum. Practically faux fur is made of same substances as plastic. Faux furs are not biodegradable. This means that when an outwear like the fur is damaged after many years, the synthetic materials will become micro-plastics fibers, that will for sure contaminate the watercourses. If you want to protect our ecosystem, the right choice will certainly be a real fur, composed by natural fibres.
If you keep reading, you will discover:
Tanning methods for the real fur are different, there is the chromium tanning, that if it is made correctly it will pollute less than a faux fur. The chromium tanning is made with Cromo III, is a good material for people. If you consider that, the lack of it can cause different pathologies. Another tanning method can be the metal-free, which remove heavy metals. This is usually used for bovine leathers chosen for leather industry. Then there is the vegetable tanning, the most ancient and less performed because of the processing times, the costs and because of the result, since we will have a very hard fur. The leading thought when you talk about pollution, is for the materials that are used during the tanning, but we can’t forget about the energy used and the disposal of the flown waters. Tanneries utilize a lot of water to wet the leathers, and electricity for the functioning of the machinery.
Waters are purified before get back to nature. It is the same chemical emissions, for which are used the best technologies.
Therefore, if everything is done following the regulations, a real fur will pollute less than a faux fur.
Real furs, differently than faux furs, don’t pollute the nature. Above all the breeders respect their animals. Their health is very important for the good quality of the furs.
Fur guarantees that the animal is totally respected and nothing goes to waste. We can quickly summarize the positivity of the animal farms on the environmental impact. Foxes and minks are fed with the chicken and milk products factories wastes, this prevent to work off those wastes in landfills and have a bad impact on nature.
Every farm animal is responsible of the animal wastes and the products of their industry, and utilizes them to produce biogas in order to reduce the demand of fossil fuels. Fur is one of the most natural, eco-friendly and long-lasting products in the world of fashion. Practically the real fur has positive impact on the environment, in matters of productions and work off. It is obviously different for faux furs.
Fur is the most ancient product in the world and has an incredibly history, and it is considered the most sophisticated cloth for its warmth, style and comfort.
Eco fur is not at all ecological. Many people think that buy an eco-fur is the best choice, because as the name says, does not pollute. Unfortunately, buy a faux fur is the wrong choice, because they pollute our territory.
Eco furs are cheap but not ecological. Eco fur must be called faux fur, or fake fur, because is made with products derived from petroleum and is not easy to work it off when it is produced and when there is the end of it. Many animalists think that they are making the best choice buying a faux fur, because they are not buying a real animal fur, but this is wrong because buying a faux fur means destroying our ecosystem. It is very difficult to work off a fake fur. When it is produced, it really pollute a lot.
All the auction houses are fighting for the use of the real fur and the elimination of the faux fur, because all the animal factories also produce fossil fuels, beyond leathers, fertilizers and animal feeds for others animal factories or for agriculture. Animal factories also produce energy.
Unfortunately, on the faux-eco fur matter there is a lot of disinformation and above all many people associate the word “ecological” to the real meaning, ignoring totally the truth of the facts.
